We build one ledger, then let the business grow around it.
OrangeTree Software was founded by finance and engineering people who were tired of ERP suites that were really six products wearing one logo. So we built the opposite: a single General Ledger core, with every department's module posting directly to it.
From one spreadsheet problem to a platform
OrangeTree started in 2016 when our founders, then running finance for a mid-sized manufacturer, spent every month-end reconciling three separate systems for inventory, payroll and the general ledger by hand. The fix wasn't another integration — it was refusing to build separate systems in the first place.
Today that same principle runs through all six OrangeTree modules: General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Petty Cash, SCM, CRM and HCM share one schema, one audit trail, and one login, for finance teams who'd rather close the books than chase them.
The principles behind every module we ship
The ledger is the product
Every module we build has to prove it belongs on the same database as Finance — not adjacent to it, not synced to it.
Implementation should take weeks
If turning on a new module requires a new implementation project, we've failed. Data model changes are the exception, not the norm.
Auditability isn't a report, it's a default
Every posting is attributable by design, so compliance is a byproduct of using the system, not a separate task.
Support that understands accounting
Our support team is trained on debits and credits, not just tickets — because "it's not posting to the GL" needs an accountant's answer.
